Lilac Fire Update
The Lilac Fire is now 15 percent contained and remains at 4,100 acres burned, CAL FIRE said in an update Friday night.
The fire has burned 105 structures and damaged 15.The cause remains under investigation.
Earlier in the evening, some residents who had been told to evacuate were allowed back home.
According to recent Census figures, roughly 7,700 people live in the area that remains under an evacuation order.
Five shelters are still operating, with 205 people.
Roads within the area under the mandatory evacuation order are still closed, including Highway 76 from Interstate 15 to East Vista Way.
Power is still out for 9,400 SDG&E customers throughout the county whose lines were de-energized due to gusty winds. Additionally, the utility company said initial inspections show 15-20 poles were damaged in the Lilac Fire area. SDG&E reports that crews have restored power to 11,500 customers as of 7 p.m.
Officials remind residents to stay alert as the County remains under a red flag warning through 8 p.m. Sunday and is in extreme fire risk.
