Escondido Shelter Now Closed
The East Valley Community Center shelter in Escondido is now closed. About 110 people remain at the following shelters:
- Palomar College, 1140 W Mission Rd, San Marcos, CA 92069
- Bostonia Park and Recreation, 1049 Bostonia St, El Cajon, CA 92021
The large animal shelter at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is also open.
CAL FIRE reports the Lilac Fire is now 20 percent contained and remains at 4,100 acres. The fire has burned 105 structures and damaged 15.
