Valley Fire Update #11: Additional Evacuation Orders
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued an updated evacuation order to include the Corte Madera area south of Pine Valley. An evacuation order means that persons in the affected area need to evacuate to a safe location to ensure their safety. Please see the Emergency Map for updated areas that are impacted.
As a reminder, an evacuation order requires immediate movement out of an affected area due to an imminent threat to life. An evacuation warning considers the probability that an area affected in the near future and is given to prepare people for a potential evacuation order.
However, everyone should be prepared to evacuate and should evacuate if they do not feel safe. Residents who are asked to evacuate or choose to evacuate can go to Steele Canyon High School or Joan MacQueen Middle School. If you need emergency assistance with evacuation, call 9-1-1.
