New Shelter Opening in Carlsbad

The City of Carlsbad has opened a second evacuation shelter for residents and their pets at Calavera Hills Community Center, 2997 Glasgow Drive. Pets such as dogs, cats, and rabbits must be crated and leashes should be available for dogs.

Residents with larger animals are asked to take livestock animals to:

  •         Cloverdale Ranch 2460 Cloverdale Ranch in Escondido
  •         Warner Ranch, 10950 Pala Road in Pala
  •         Ivy Ranch, 110 Rancho del Oro in Oceanside

Livestock are no longer being accepted at Plaza Camino Real.

Residents who need assistance with animal evacuations, or need to check for additional animal shelter locations, should call the County?s Department of Animal Services dispatch line at (619) 236-2341.

If you need emergency assistance in evacuation, call 9-1-1.

Residents are urged to call 2-1-1 for all non-emergency calls and visit www.sdcountyemergency.com for updates online.
