Further Fire Evacuations in Fallbrook, Camp Pendleton

The San Diego County Sheriff?s Department reports it has ordered additional evacuations in Fallbrook due to the 6,000-acre Tomahawk Fire which may spread off base. The Sheriff?s Department called more than 380 contacts including homes, businesses and cell phones just before 4 p.m.

Camp Pendleton reports the Fallbrook evacuations are on Olive Hill Road between Ladera Vista Road and South Mission Road.

All residents can evacuate to Escondido High School at 1535 N. Broadway in Escondido.

Camp Pendleton also reports that the fire that was reported in the Las Pulgas area at 3:15 p.m. has grown to 500 acres and is moving south at a moderate rate of spread. Due to the fire, both Camp Las Pulgas and Camp Margarita have been ordered to evacuate.

Las Pulgas military personnel are asked move north to the School of Infantry parade deck behind the mess hall. Margarita personnel are instructed to move south to the I MEF parade deck behind Devil Doc Hall.
