Tornado Warning Issued for South Central San Diego County
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Tornado Warning for South Central San Diego County until 12:15 p.m.
At 11:44 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Paradise Hills, or near Chula Vista moving northeast at 35 mph.
The National Weather Services reports Impacted areas could
include Chula Vista, El Cajon, National City, La Mesa, Tierrasanta,
Santee, Lemon Grove, Encanto, Rancho San Diego, La Presa, Paradise
Hills, Lincoln Park, College East, Lake Murray, Spring Valley,
Rolando,
Crest, Lakeside, Bonita, and Mountain View.
People in the warning area are urged to take cover now. Move to a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
