Residents Allowed to Return Home in Certain Areas of Border 32 Fire

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department, in collaboration with CAL FIRE San Diego and the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services, are issuing a limited repopulation order for residents that were evacuated due to the Border 32 Fire.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., residents in the following areas will be allowed to return to their homes:

  • West of Cochera Via Drive
  • East of Potrero Valley Road

The following road closures remain in effect until further notice:

  • State Route 94 at Forest Gate Road (open to residents only)
  • State Route 94 at Potrero Valley Road
  • Round Potrero Valley Road at Potrero Valley Road
  • Eastbound 94 at Otay Lakes Road (open to residents only)
  • Eastbound 94 at Barrett Lake Road

Residents returning to Potrero must enter from eastbound State Route 94. Those returning to Dulzura must enter from westbound State Route 94.

CAL FIRE reports the Border 32 Fire remains 4,438 acres and is now 14% contained.
